The motor
The motor in the hair dryer is a direct current motor. The motor consists of a stator and a rotor and has the following principle of working:
- Contradictory poles attract each other
- Identical poles reject each other
That resulted in a rotating movement
- Contradictory poles attract each other
- Identical poles reject each other
That resulted in a rotating movement
We also need a AC-DC converter to convert a alternating current to a direct current. That happens with a bridge rectifier, which consists of 4 diodes.
Motor: Commutator
A direct current motor needs a commutator, which can change the direction of the current through the coils.
Here you see the principle of the the commutator:
When it rotates, it changes the direction of the current

Introduction
For Technological Design Ingeneering, we have to choose a device that we will disassemble, study and give a 3D-visualization. I've choosen for a hairdryer 'Ionic 1800W BaByliss'.
The sense of this task is to have a clear insight into the working of that hairdryer, to look what kind of materials they have used and to declare why they've used this materials.
